Lisa Speller, our CEO has experience across many industries. She most recently worked as the Vice President of Government Affairs and Community Relations with the Colonial Downs Group/Penisula Pacific. Focusing on business development and government relations.
As a gubernatorial appointee, in the role of policy advisor with the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Health Profession, the agency oversees all licensed healthcare professionals. Lisa worked on matters impacting the nursing profession. She co-chaired the Health Equity Steering Committee, an integral part of the Governor’s initiative addressing cultural competency and equity in healthcare.
Lisa was previously appointed to serve as Senior Policy Advisor to the Mayor for the City of Richmond. In her advisory role, Lisa was responsible for public safety, community engagement, and transparency in government.
Prior to working in the public sector, she led Community Outreach and Business Development Director for Anthem and Humana.
Lisa currently serves on several boards and commissions, including the Virginia Board of Health Professional, Massage Therapy Advisory and Oversight Board, Henrico Police Athletic League Board and the Henrico County Chief of Police Advisory Board. She previously served as Chair of the Richmond Police Athletic League.
Lisa currently holds a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and is a Registered Nurse.
